 The prime coat also called the scratch coat. This is what will make or break your coating. Without a proper prime coat, your texture and paint are at the concrete's mercy. Having the prime coat down will ensure the texture will bond properly and gives a better finish after the paint. (Also note before this includes cleaning the concrete.) |  This is the texture phase. Flagstone has the mix poured and then troweled out into the texture you expect, followed by scratching out grout-lines. Pictured here is Lace (Cool deck imitation). It's shot with a hopper gun and provides even coverage. It's then flattened (knocked down) with a trowel and a steady hand. This will give is that directional flatness. |  A smooth and even coat of paint really brings the texture out and makes the color pop. We roll our paint rather than spray it because it puts down a thicker and more resilient layer. After this is an optional sealer coat as well to help resist smudges or stains. Sealer is highly recommended for driveways (especially with those hot tires)! |
